About Me
Hello, welcome to my blog!
My name is Vitasta Raina. I'm an architect, habitat-planner, author, and artist based out of Mumbai.
I am the author of a political-fiction novella Writers' Block (International Authors, 2011), and a collection of poetry Someday Dream (Sahitya Akademi, 2014). I have been featured in several anthologies including Indian Literature, Emanations- journal of speculative fiction, Dance of the Peacock, and Phenomenal Literature among others. I won the Tata LitLive Mystory 2019 contest for my poem "Madness is Euphoria".
My artwork, influenced by Art Brut and outsider art styles, has been used for illustrations and book covers.
In my professional life as an architect and planner, I have had the privilege of contributing to projects across Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and Delhi NCR. I was fortunate to have had my architectural training under Laurie Baker at COSTFORD Trivandrum. As a habitat-planner I have worked with MMRDA on the Rental/ Affordable housing scheme and with NIUA on the Smart Cities Mission. I am currently working in the field of Architectural Product Development.
I am passionate about the ever-evolving landscapes of cities, and love exploring the interplay between urban life, identity, and built environments through my writing and artwork.
