I have found the cheat code I think of making gifts for folks, mostly coz I have been rather unsuccessful in this whole business of selling art. I am meeting some family after a long while away and what better way of showing my ever loving affection than by gifting them pieces of art that I created myself. I've also discovered an easy way of making art. Forego the canvas dear girl and pick up the good old gouache, and my signature gold paint. Also, I am making a lot more birds. I like them, ancient dinosaur DNA courses through their bodies and they can fly.
Recently I took an online quiz for finding out my spirit animals and I got "rooster and peacock", always thought i might be a buzzard or something cool, but I guess I'm a chicken and a fancy pants forest chicken with a dressy coattail.
I think I'm still in the infancy stage in the lifestyle of an artist. I think an artist is middle aged by 50. So I'm still a kid. Also since I have zero responsibilities except taking care of my own self (which by the way is not an easy task, I have to take care of nutrition, exercise, being a corporate slave, paying my bils, making sure i look respectable heading into work, sticking to my art schedule, taking out time for cultural enrichment, making time for meeting family and freiends, making travel plans, sticking to my commitments, keeping my house clean, keeping my walls cleans, watering my one house plant, feeding my one pet fish, grocery shopping..😑 great, I exhausted myself just typing out my chores and infinite task lists.
Anyway, half the year is almost over and I think I miss oil paints. I miss poetry too. I miss myself at times as well, but I know one must change as one emerges from young adulthood to middle age. Listen, I think I'm rambling. I promised myself to keep my blog professional and tidy. These are the two gift sets below
